Counseling Program Goals

The Counseling Department of Eau Claire High School is dedicated to providing academic, personal, and career counseling through a system designed to assist all students with developing and attaining their educational, career, and personal goals.

Counselors strive to meet the developmental needs for all students as well as to respond to the special needs and interests of individual students.  Among the many responsibilities of school counselors, the following are primary: integrating the School Counseling Program curriculum into the school’s instructional program, counseling with students and parents, consulting with staff members, and coordinating activities with community agencies.

The School Counseling Program delivery system ensures that the skills of the counselor are used to optimum advantage; that they work with the psychologists, nurses, social workers, parent liaisons, and administrators to enrich the School Counseling Program; that classroom teachers’ already important counseling role is strengthened; and that parents and community agencies are kept informed and encouraged to participate in the development of students.
